With reference to Colonial Office letter
No. 18771/26 of the 22nd ultimo, I am
directed by Secretary Sir Austen Chamberlain
to enclose copies of correspondence with the
Director of Military Intelligence on the subject
of the employment of British forces on Chinese
territory.
2. Sir Austen Chamberlain adheres to the view
expressed in Sir W. Tyrrell's memorandum of
July 27th, and is accordingly unable to
